Especial Artistas (Tv y Libros) con Julia London

¡Hola!

¡Hello! Today i'm so proud of can go on with my section Special Artist of the hand by Julia London. She's a historical and contemporary romance writer with very powerful messages and romances that exalt all your emotions.

INTERVIEW TO JULIA LONDON

I'm Dinah Dinwiddie. I grew up in Texas and attended the University of Texas in Austin. I graduated with a degree in government and went to Washington to work for a while. But events brought me back to Texas, and after working in local government, I decided I didn't want to do that the rest of my life.

So I started writing like Julia London and saw my work published. Twenty years later, I've written over 50 contemporary and historical romances.

Soy Dinah Dinwiddie.

My last historical series was The Highland Grooms and my last contemporary series was my Lake Haven series.

Mi última serie histórica publicada es The highland grooms y mi última serie contemporánea publicada es Lake haven.

My upcoming series is called the Princes of Texas and the first book in the series, THE CHARMER IN CHAPS, will be released May 7th of this year.

El 7 de mayo saldrá a la venta mi próxima serie Princes of Texas con el primer libro "The charmer in chaps" de ella.

"Everyone knows how intense a high-school crush can be. When every waking moment is consumed with the awareness of the crush, when a smile, or a brush of the fingers from the crushee could carry the crusher for a day. Maybe even a week if you re-examined it ad nauseum with your best friend and roommate, Stacy, while your foster parents yelled at each other in the living room.

That’s how Ella Kendall had felt about Luca Prince in high school. He’d transferred into Edna Colley High School in the middle of their junior year, coming from wherever insanely rich kids came from. He was tall and muscular, dark hair streaked with gold, and hazel eyes that changed from blue to green to brown. He was so handsome and so exotically perfect that Ella’s hormones had stacked up like discarded tires and had burned for the next eighteen months. It was a fire that could not be doused.

Not that Luca Prince ever noticed.

Everyone in the town of Three Rivers knew about the Prince family and the famed Three Rivers Ranch for which the town was named. They’d filmed Hollywood movies there. They’d hosted a summit between the president of the United States and the president of Mexico about some trade thing. The ranch was massive in size and supposedly, if you wanted to see it all in one day, you needed a plane.

Ella and Stacy had never seen the ranch except in pictures, because they sure didn’t run in the popular kids’ circle. But they’d heard about the fabled fortress. It was tucked away behind a big fancy gate, nestled on the bank of the river at the foot of the hills. Mariah Frame, nee Baker, their only friend in high school, had seen the ranch, and she’d said it was a like a castle. A Spanish castle. “It’s so big,” she’d said. “And it has so many horses.” Apparently it also had a pool, tennis courts, cars, and Ella could no longer remember what all. But she used to imagine that it was just like the castles in all the princess movies she’d watched as a kid.

Ella, Stacy, and Mariah had called him Prince Luca. He was so dreamy, with those mesmerizing eyes and wavy hair that brushed his shoulders. He and his twin sister, Princess Hallie, had ruled Colley High. They were the homecoming queen and king, a stratosphere of popularity so high above Ella that she must have looked like a speck to them.

Once, Luca had asked Ella for her notes from algebra, and Ella had gotten so tongue-tied that she’d just shoved them at him. And of course she’d completely lost her mind on the night of the senior dance when he’d grabbed her hand—without asking, now that she thought about it, but that was a minor detail—and pulled her onto the dance floor. And then, just like in the movies, after a bit of swaying around, he’d kissed her.

Out of the blue, with no warning, Prince Luca had kissed her, right in the middle of the dance floor, beneath the piñatas. Ella had been kissed many times since, but she remembered everything about that one. His hand had cupped her face; his other had rested on the small of her back. His lips had lingered on hers for what seemed like forever, soft and tender, like he’d landed there and liked it. He had not kissed her in the urgent, demanding way that Clint Adams had kissed her their sophomore year. Prince Luca’s kiss was a proper knee-melting, heart-exploding kiss.
And then, just as suddenly, he’d lifted his head, touched her cheek, and walked off."

I'm also currently working on a historical series called A Royal Wedding. The first book in that series, The Princess Plan, will be published later this year.

ALL THE BOOKS AND TV OF 2018

What was the first book you read this year:

Lake Success by Gary Shteyngart.  He's really funny, but this book wasn't that funny.

What is the shortest book you've read this year:

News of the World by Paulette Giles

Movie you loved the most in the last year:

It was based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Kevin Kwan.

It follows a Chinese-American professor who travels to meet her boyfriend's family and is surprised to discover they are among the richest in Singapore. It was a lot of fun.

¡Crazy rich asians!

What's your favorite T.V. series of the past year:

Don't laugh, but BoJack Horseman on Netflix. It's animated, but BoJack makes me laugh so hard. He is a horrible horse and famous star of a 90's sitcom.

What is your favorite book that you've read so far this year and why:

Hmm...I just finished reading Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts by Lucy Dillon. I loved it because it is a feel good book and because it had lots of dogs. :-)

Favorite cover of a book you've read or seen this year. Why did you like it:

My friend, Karen Hawkins has a book coming out later this year called the Book Charmer. You can see it on Amazon. It has a pretty reading chair and stack of books and just looks so inviting. I love that cover.

Your favorite actor from a T.V. series in the past year:

I'm partial to Kit Harington who plays Jon Snow on Game of Thrones. I just think he's cute. I want him to survive.  I think he's worked hard enough for it.

What do you think was the best script made into a movie in the last year (book to film?):

Crazy Rich Asians. I read the book when it first came out and thought they did an amazing job keeping it close to the book.

Crazy rich asians.

Favorite cover artist and why:

Hang Le because she creates beautiful designs and is a joy to work with. She also created the gorgeous cover for my last contemporary, Suddenly Single.

Your favorite book characters in any book so far this year and why:

I loved the chemistry between Joshua Templeton and Lucy Hutton in The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. Great romance!

Pick four of your favorite characters from either movies or T.V. and tell us why you like them:

Let's see, I like Claire from Homeland because she is nutty and brilliant at the same time.

I think the dynamics between Lena and Martin on Splitting Up Together are so well done.

I loved Olivia Colman as Queen Anne in The Favourite. I know a little about Queen Anne and I thought she portrayed her so well.

A movie or series you've rewatched in the last year and why:

I don't generally watch things over, although I might have to rewatch the Game of Thrones before the final season to remind myself what is going on.

Is there a book you've waited to read for one reason or another and finally got around to reading it?  Did you enjoy it or were you disappointed:

The Witch Elm by Tana French. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would. I think the hype around the book increased my expectations and the book didn't live up to those expectations.

The witch elm de Tana French.

The genre you've read the most in the last year and why do you enjoy it more than the others:

This is a hard question to answer. I tend to listen to thrillers on audio because they keep my attention while I'm driving. But when I read, it is usually Women's Fiction or romance.

Movie that you have wanted to see for a long time and finally got to watch it

The Favourite. I had a deadline for a book and thought I was going to miss it, but managed to see it a few days before it left theaters.

Best series ending and why:

The Americans. Now that's a series I watched and really liked. It was weird to root for the Russians, but you can't help it. And I really liked the way it ended (no spoilers!)

The americans.

What is your favorite book of all time:

It's not even in print: Harry of Monmouth by A.M. Maugham. It was a book my mother had about Henry V, and I thought that book was magical. I still have it, but the pages are falling out.

With love,

Julia London.
